Painting....with a Twist!

Last week, a friend of mine got a group of girls together for Painting with a Twist! We had a blast! What is Painting with a Twist? Well, it's a company that helps anyone and everyone paint their own masterpieces, even people who are creatively challenged. Our painting for the night was the cross! I had been looking forward to this for a while but was worried about it since my drawing abilities aren't that great! lol

Check out their website here.

They start you out with a blank canvas and the body of your design is stenciled in.

They also give you pre-selected colors. Each picture has it's colors that are used.

I wasn't too sure how my picture would turn out because I was scared! lol

They show you what to do step by step. It's a lot of blending and it really isn't that easy!! lol

Me pretending I know what I'm doing! lol

This is the part I was most worried about because I thought the scrolls were already penciled in on the cross....but they weren't! I had to make these myself! Aaaah can we say NERVES?! lol

However, I was happy with my final outcome! It's now hanging in my dining room next to the red wall! :0)

Me with my finished product!

I had a BLAST doing this and can't wait to do it again!!!!

******************************

In running news, this past week has been great! I got in a 2 mile run, a 3.5 mile run, and a 3 mile run. I woke up a few early mornings before work and fit in a run. That really was great! I've also done really well with my food choices this week! I've tried to cut out the "unnecessary" and replace snack choices with healthier options. When you really break it down and you look at things, you realize how bad some things are for you...and why would I want to do that to my body? I feel so much better after eating fresh, wholesome foods! Yay!

More about our long run from this morning later!

I have a Gala for the American Cancer Society tonight! It's a fancy dress up dinner so I'm gonna get ready for that in a few! You'll also hear more about ACS from me soon!!! :0)

  2. I really need to find something like that around here! I'm so creatively challenged that I could never paint a picture without a little help!
