On Saturday, my town held our annual Light Up the Lake ceremony! It lasted most of the afternoon but we didn’t participate in all of the festivities. It began at 2 p.m. with a parade, then kids activities inside the main building, then our Mayor flipped the switch and all of the lights on the front lawn of our Civic Center came on. This was followed by a lighted boat parade and Fireworks. Needless to say, we only made it to the end of the boat parade and the Fireworks. It was fun to see, though!
Even though the fireworks were synchronized to Christmas music, I was sad that Cinderella’s Castle wasn’t in the background! :0( Then I remembered that I leave for Disney World in exactly one month! Yipppeee! After my excitement wore off, nervousness hit because not only am I leaving for the Happiest Place on Earth, I’m also running my first FULL Marathon in exactly one month!!! MAJOR Eeeeeekkkk!
In an effort to calm my nerves, we drove around the front of our Civic Center…
…then in front of the houses on my favorite running route!!
This is my FAVORITE Christmas house! I love it! They even have music piped in! It’s too cute! :0)
I can’t help but smile at Santa with his “alligator-reindeer”!!
Yesterday, one of my favorite days of each month happened…
The new Runners World magazine came in!!! I always always open it like a kid at Christmas and flip through as fast as I can to find the Disney Marathon adds! I love them! This one actually had a write-up about the Marathon. I saved reading the rest of the magazine for later! :0)
For dinner, we had enchiladas with whole wheat tortillas and lean ground turkey meat! They were yummy! :0)
Somewhere in between all of that, I ran 4 miles (2 with Maddie) and I attended a memorial service for my friend’s husband.
BUSY day!!!!
Does your town have any Christmas traditions/festivities? :0)
I did the Disney Marathon earlier this year. It's a great marathon. You're going to have a blast and kick ass!
