Part 1 of my Disney Marathon weekend recap will begin with the Health and Fitness Expo!
We flew into Orlando on Friday afternoon. After we checked into our hotel, we got settled in our room, used a snack credit on soup for lunch (and ate with Heather and Bobby at that!), then headed out for the Expo!
I love how Disney has everything all set up. We didn’t have to worry about race day transportation at all!!
I took a picture like this last year so I needed another one! lol It’s me on the Marathon Transportation bus with my race waiver!
Before we knew it, we had arrived at ESPN WWoS!
I was told that it had been busy earlier that afternoon and it was still busy but not as packed as I was expecting!
There were signs everywhere directing you where to go!
This is the floor of the first room we went in where I got my race number and found out I was in corral E! Huge improvement from last year when I was in the last corral! Hah!
I got my race number, then posed with a few of the runDisney signs! I was looking specifically for runDisney merchandise but they weren’t selling any thing like that. Oh well!
This time clock made me nervous….but it was specifically counting down time to the Half Marathon, not the Full thankfully! :0)
Now onto the EXPO!!
I had a great time walking through looking at all of the vendors items! This year Jason let me purchase one of the Disney Marathon display cases (especially since it was my first Full!) I’m excited and can’t wait to get it in!!
I also bought some of the Disney Marathon merchandise but I wasn’t very impressed by their shirts. I wish they at least had 26.2 on them. Oh well. I do love the zip down gray Marathon jacket that I bought!
I made sure to stop by the Running Skirts booth where I bought a pair of black compression socks that were on sale! Yay!!
Clif had a taste testing area and even though the line was long, I still decided to wait in it. I’m so glad they had this available. Last year for the Disney half, I took a Clif gel during the race, not having tasted it before. UGH. I had to spit it out it reminded me of paste. It was so gross. I even LOVE GU! Sooo…in this line, they told us what Clif products would be available at each food stop! I tasted the strawberry gel and it was a GO so I gave it two thumbs up and even used it on the race course! :0) Thanks Cliff!
As we were leaving, we saw a line for HP – they allowed you to take pictures in front of a castle backdrop and they printed a 4x6 for you for free! How nice! I also got the email link so I was able to save it for myself! Thanks HP!! :0)
As you can see, we left once it was getting dark – we spent about 2 hours in the Expo. I was nervous and excited at the same time about this race. It was definitely more real to me once I had my bib and all of my Marathon merchandise!!! I was also excited to get up and meet my friend Jenn to cheer some friends who were running the Half Marathon!
