If you’ve been a follower of my blog for a while, you know I LOVE the game of baseball and I absolutely LOVE playing softball.
You’ll also remember that last year around this time (actually, it was June), I broke my foot playing softball for a local city league team. First broken bone ever. I hated it. I hated being confined to that stupid boot.
You’ll also remember the nickname my teammates gave me last year “Albert”! Hahah!
As I was flipping through pictures this weekend, I came across quite a few that brought me back….(not too far back cause I didn’t graduate THAT long ago!) Look what I found! It’s some pictures of me playing Softball back in high school! Hah!
This was for recreation softball during the summer – my Sophomore year of high school. Look at that hair! Man…it was soooo long and poofy! Thank GOD for flat irons! We hosted a National State Tournament in our town – teams from all over the USA were there. I remember playing a team from California called “The Mermaids”! Don’t ask how I remember that-I remember a lot of crazy unimportant things!
I had a blast that year! :0)
Here’s the summer before my Senior Year! I couldn’t find any “really old” softball pictures – I started playing in 7th grade.
So, I’ve ALWAYS been an outfielder (see pic above – I’m all the way to the right of the picture) – but apparently, someone decided to swap positions and put me at 2nd base (see pic below)?! I definitely don’t remember ever playing 2nd base!!
Last but not least, my Senior Year photo for High School!
I loved that bat…I still have it and bring it with me to every softball game!! :0)
Seniors in our last high school softball game. We made it to the Regional Playoffs that year!
That was kind of fun! I love walking down memory lane every once in a while. Lately, its seems I’ve been even more sentimental than usual….
As far as workouts go-this week, I’ve been going to bed at 9 p.m. every night and waking up at 4:30 a.m. for a workout. It’s just so much easier to work out in the morning when my afternoons are usually so busy! I have been working on Jillian’s Ripped in 30 and seriously- that woman is a beast!!! I try to alternate days – Jillian one day, running the next, etc. Yesterday, I ran 4 miles on the treadmill before work. I don’t have a set routine (cause that would never work for me) so I just take it day by day! :0)
Thanks for following along! :0)
I wish I could get up that early to workout. I like sleeping too much I think. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat great memories you have from high school! Glad you still play.
ReplyDeleteYeah, mornings are the best workout time for me - afternoons leave me dragging my butt 4 miles down the road - ugh!
Oooh I love softball! I'm not very good at it, but it is such a fun sport. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have some amazing memories from school!
Oh, and I also wanted to thank you for your comment on my guest post. I've discovered it is quite common for spouses to know each other's fb passwords. That's definitely something I want to do when I get hitched! xo
