First off, if you are reading this, you should know that I am a HUGE reminisce-r (if that's even a word...I think I just invented a new word!). If you've been following me for a while, you've also seen me say that I feel as if I'm a 16 year old trapped inside of a 20 something year old body (almost 30! Yikes!).
Growing up, I was a huge NSYNC fan...ah yes, I rocked it out with NSYNC!
The Disney Channel hosted an NSYNC concert probably back in 1998 or 1999 that I recorded on VHS (gasp...yes VHS). I watched that concert over and over and over and over and over again - at least once a day every day during that summer!
Now that I'm "older", it hasn't gotten much better. (Ok, well I don't have life-size posters of teen heartthrobs on the walls of my bedroom anymore, so maybe it has gotten a little better!) :0)
Since NSYNC has faded out, my more-adult loves have moved towards High School Musical, Camp Rock, Demi Lovato, and the Jonas Brothers. Yes, I like the Jonas Brothers. (Very mature, right?)
So here's where the reminiscing part comes into play.....
Last summer, for my TWENTY-EIGHTH birthday (I hate to admit that!), my best friend and my sister in law traveled with me to The Woodlands, Texas to spend the weekend Jonas style!!! If you were following my blog last summer, you probably remember me talking about our crazy adventures! :0)
I miss last summer so much, you have no clue.
A few highlights:
-I teach a group of high school girls at my church - so last summer, we had a Camp Rock 2 viewing party at my house! It was a BLAST! The week before Camp Rock 2 premiered on Disney Channel, the cast also taped a segment on Good Morning America (it was a part of GMA's summer concert series). Watching their portion on GMA made me even more excited to see them, in concert!
-I broke my foot playing softball and had to wear a stupid hard boot on my foot for 6 weeks. (ok so maybe that wasn't a good memory!)
-I visited North Carolina for a week with my mom (she was there on business). I enjoyed a week of sight-seeing, relaxation, and rest!
A Little North Carolina
Last Day in North Carolina!
-To end the summer, we spent a weekend in The Woodlands. Our day started off with a Road Dogs game where we got to see the Jonas Brothers up close and life-size playing a softball game against the Marquees Jet Flyers. No joke, this was probably the best part of the weekend! I took a few good pictures, too! Even though we were sun burned (no sunscreen-I'm a bad oncology nurse!) and were incredibly hot, we still had a blast!
-To top it all off, we ended our evening with the Camp Rock 2/Demi Lovato/Jonas Brothers concert! What an experience! A ton of screaming girls, everyone singing the words to the songs....it was awesome! I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Of all the summers I can remember, the summer of 2010 is definitely in the top 10!!
Now that we are in the summer of 2011, I can't wait to see what it has in store!! :0)
I remember that concert on the Disney Channel! I remember LOVING it. There was also one of BBMak with M2M...did you see that? I loved that one, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer :)

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I was the biggest NSYNC fan ever! What a trip down memory lane - thanks!
ReplyDeleteOMG. NSYNC. You just flooded my brain with the memory of pre-ordering No Strings Attached and going to Sam Goody at MIDNIGHT to get it. I'd love to say I was 15 when that happened...but I was a junior in college. And it was awesome.
ReplyDeleteI had a blast that weekend too! Can't wait to get something together this summer!
ReplyDeleteI really wish I lived closer to you because I need someone to go see the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, etc with me!! :)
ReplyDeleteI was going to say isn't it sad that when I saw the title of your post I immediately go "it's our vacation" in true High School Musical 2 style but then I read it and realized it's okay that I'm 30 something and referencing HSM! :) Especially when I see that you are also a NSYNC and Jo Bros fan!! :) Sounds like a fun summer.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post however , I was wondering if
ReplyDeleteyou could write a litte more on this topic?
I'd be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit more.
Many thanks!
