Day #1 onboard the Norwegian Pearl
Day #2 “At Sea” day
Day #3 – Juneau, Alaska
Day #4 – Skagyway, Alaska
Day #5 – Glacier Bay
Day #6 – Ketchikan, Alaska
Day #7 – Victoria, BCDay #8 - Back in Seattle
Monday, August 22 was our first “At Sea” day!
I began the morning with a run! I was excited to get outside and run in a climate where I could actually BREATHE! I forgot to mention that I ran the morning before when we were still in Seattle – I ran in the hotel’s fitness center and was able to run a 3 mile interval run on the treadmill! I missed my Saturday long run because I was sick and wanted to recover before our trip! :0)
I’m going to dedicate a separate entire post to Running onboard the Norwegian Pearl because it was QUITE the experience, thank you very much….. *roll eyes*
Ok back to the cruise……
After the run, I showered, then met my family in the buffet for breakfast!
Egg whites omelet with French toast and bananas foster sauce! YUM!
Apparently, we did nothing between breakfast and lunch...I really cannot remember what we did between breakfast and lunch…..I just remember being bored. Hah!
We ate lunch in the Summer Palace Restaurant which was one of Norwegian’s main dining rooms.
This place was gorgeous inside! My mom said over and over again that it reminded her of the Titanic.
I had a chicken salad sandwich with avocado….
…and strawberry cake with strawberry ice cream for dessert! Yum!! :0)
This restaurant really was a pretty one!!!
We went back to our room after lunch and of course, I had to have a little bite of birthday cake!! :0)
After lunch, we had nothing to do, again. I noticed that there was a Diamond discussion on the schedule for 3 p.m., so we decided to go! Was I looking to buy diamonds? No…but Maxine, the port shopping consultant was so excited about jewelry that it made me excited, too! :0)
My husband was THRILLED! Can’t you tell? Hah!
After the Diamond talk, we walked around outside for a little while! The scenery was SO different from other cruises we’ve taken!
The Promenade Deck! :0)
It started raining so we went inside to get ready for formal night!! :0)
Ready to go!! :0)
We decided to eat dinner in Summer Palace (the Titanic-ish) restaurant because it was the nicer of the 2 main dining rooms!
The restaurant had no tables available at the time (hello Freestyle dining), so we were given a buzzer and we went into Bliss Lounge to wait!
We didn’t have to wait long and before we knew it, we were sitting down to eat dinner!
I had to laugh because this little trio played music out of the Disney Songbook the ENTIRE time we were at dinner! It was fun and kind of made our dinner feel a little like home! :0)
Our dinner:
My mom is hilarious! She ordered apple pie with a scoop of strawberry ice cream!
The chefs of the Pearl! :0)
Time for “official” pictures!
The sunset photo is my favorite!
Family!
In-between dinner and the nighttime show, we watched “The Not-So-Newlywed Comedy Show” in the Spinnaker Lounge. Hilarious!
After the Newlywed show, we met my parents in the Stardust Theater for the nighttime show which was WAY better than the 1st night’s show in my opinion! We got to see two jugglers who were graduates from Ringling Brother’s Barnum and Bailey Clown College! They were called Sharkbait and they were HILARIOUS! I definitely did NOT fall asleep during their show! Every time I heard the name Sharkbait, I said “Ohwahaa!”
After Sharkbait’s show, we went back to the Spinnaker Lounge for “Dancing with the Stars Norwegian Pearl style”! This show was SO FUNNY and so much fun to watch! They picked names out of a hat of audience members and those members danced with pre-selected crew members of the Pearl! What a fun show!!! I laughed so hard I cried! :0)
Fun towel animal!
All in all, it was a good day! I was REALLY bored in the morning but super entertained at night!
Up next: Our first stop: JUNEAU!!! :0)
