Ok here we go with Day 1 :0)
A few weeks before our trip, I received a notice from Continental that our departure time had been pushed back an hour. This made me incredibly nervous because only a few short hours after landing in Seattle, WA, we were supposed to be at the 5th Avenue Theater for a showing of Les Miserables!
We arrived at the airport, checked in, made it on the plane, were on our way to the taxi – everything was going smooth. All of a sudden, the plane turned around. My brain was screaming “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”! We fond out that a chick a few rows behind us up-chucked on the plane so they had to get her off the plane, vacuum up the mess, change out the seats, etc. That put us sitting – on that tiny cramped plane – for an HOUR waiting for all the mess to get cleaned up. Oh.My.God. I was a wreck! I just knew we wouldn’t make it in time for Les Mis!
Finally, the mess was cleaned up and we were on our way! I haven’t taken a flight longer than 2 1/2 hours in a very long time – so this 4 hour flight felt like it went on forever, but it was very smooth!
Approaching Seattle, we saw Mount Rainier from the plane!
To take us from the airport to our hotel, I hired a driver. I was very frustrated with the correspondent, however. This limo service was advertised as an AIRPORT limo service. Hello…airplanes have delays. I had a voicemail from him as soon as we landed and right as I turned my phone back on, he was calling again. What on earth was I supposed to do? I told him we would go to baggage claim and I’d let him know what door we were at. Well, I called when I saw what door we were at and he yelled at me because I wasn’t supposed to call him until after I had my luggage. Ok…I didn’t know that! While waiting for our luggage, he must have called at least 2 more times. I understand they were anxious but my goodness…I couldn’t make anything happen any faster!!! Seriously it’s a dang airport! I am sure I won’t be going back to Seattle anytime soon, but even if I were planning on it, I wouldn’t use them again.
The car!
In the Limo on the way to the hotel!
Guess what? The best part is that we made it in time to check into the hotel, change, eat, and see Les Mis!! Waahooo!
We ate at a little restaurant across the street from the 5th Avenue Theater called Rock Bottom.
It was very good and the service was excellent!
This chicken was amazing. Seriously. My mouth waters when I think about it! Hah! :0)
5th Avenue Theater!
Ready for the show!
Cameras weren’t allowed in the Theater so I don’t have any pictures from the show, but seriously – wow…this show was amazing! I would see it again in a heartbeat! The performers, songs, costumes, sets – all of it was amazing!
If this production is anywhere near you, I highly recommend seeing it! I cried at the end…like I knew I would! :0) The girl behind me couldn’t stop - she cried through the entire 2nd act!
Day 1 of the cruise coming right up! :0)
That stinks about the limo driver. What a butt!
ReplyDeleteI love Seattle!! Sucks the limo driver was a little short tempered, but nice to be able to ride in the limo :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I think I would have freaked out about sitting in a plane that long. Just sitting around drives me crazy. Sorry to hear about the limo driver. You are paying them to do a service. Why can't these people remember that? I have never read or watched Les Miserables but I have heard of it. I will have to look into that more.
ReplyDeletewow i've never been on a plane where someone got sick! i would have been going through the roof thinking we wouldnt make it to the show! so happy you did though!
ReplyDeletehave fun on your cruise i can't wait to see pictures!
