Here’s my 2011 recap:
January 2011
I ran the Walt Disney World Marathon – my first and only Full Marathon to date (my next is coming up in 13 days! yikes!).
February 2011
I ran my very first Charity race with the American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation team – New Orleans Rock and Roll Half Marathon. Currently, I’m signed up to run the Full with them this year!!
March 2011
Jason’s sister got married and I was a bridesmaid! Jason was an Usher.
I ran the Dallas Rock and Roll Half Marathon with my Sister In Law Kayla and my cousin. I have to admit, the main reason I wanted to run this race is because I heard that the DCC were there last year and I missed it!! They are AMAZING!! I love their show on CMT!
April 2011
Jason and I celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary and I received my 5 years of service award from my hospital!
I woke up WAY early in the morning on April 29 to watch the Royal Wedding! After work, Jason and I left for an Astros Weekend in Houston! This is also the weekend that I discovered Banana Republic. I’m in love.
May 2011
I had my first every 100 mile month! This was followed by two more 100 mile months! :0)
My Superhero friends and I ran the Contraband Days 5 miler and all PR’d! Great race!!
June 2011
I entered the lottery for the Houston Marathon….
…and my name was chosen! Seems like so long ago! Now the race is only 13 days away!
July 2011
I ran the 4 on the 4th July 4th race with my friends!
My Great Uncle Buddy passed away and at his funeral, I decided to run the 2011 Rock and Roll New Orleans Marathon with the American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation team once again.
I got to play the part of Sandra Bullock for a work event which was a ton of fun!!
August 2011
I became a Blogger for the #RunLA Claim Your Journey Community!
Fun times!
I attended an Astros game with some friends!
I went on an Alaskan Cruise with my husband and parents! We had an AMAZING trip and I would totally love to go back one day!! I also celebrated my 29th birthday onboard the Norwegian Pearl and in Victoria, BC! :0)
September 2011
I attempted Painting with a Twist once again. It was for a good cause – all proceeds benefitted the local pet adoption agency where we adopted our baby Madalynn!
October 2011
I said Goodbye to the old, and Hello to the new! A new Chevy Equinox, that is!
I also officially signed up to run with the American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation team in March of 2011!
I ran the Gulf Coast Half Marathon in Mandeville, LA with a my friends!
I ran a 21 mile training run with my friends…..dressed in costume for Halloween!
I also dressed in Costume as Kara Goucher and entered a Running Skirts costume contest! I came in 3rd place and won a free skirt! Fun times!!
We also wore our costumes to work. I’ve never heard so much laughter coming from a cancer center!! :0)
November 2011
I ran my first ever Mud Run with my sister in law and her friend! What a crazy experience!
I also ran the Cajun Cup 10K in Lafayette, Louisiana and met a few awesome Claim Your Journey friends!
I really enjoyed running the Go Run Turkey Trot and shopping on Black Friday with a few friends!
December 2011
I was asked to play the part of Cinderella for a Church event. I HAD A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!
I ran the Swamp Stomp with my friends and had my best Half Marathon time to date ….. 2:01!!!
We were in our good friends’ wedding…..and after the wedding, we all went to Disney World. I’m not lying – we followed each other to Disney World! Hah! More on that story soon!
We really really enjoyed Disney World, but the trip was too short (as usual).
We celebrated Christmas with our families and had a fabulous day!
The rest of 2011 and the beginning of 2012 hasn’t been all that great. This will turn around, I know – I’m just in a down mood and need to get over it.
I hope you all enjoyed your New Year’s Celebrations! I spent the evening with my friends watching the ball drop and playing games! We had a great night!
How did you celebrate?
Happy New Year!!
