On April 9, 2006 my wonderful boyfriend (now husband) proposed – and 363 days later, we were married! :0)
I told you here and here that Easter is a very special Holiday for me. Not only were we married on Easter weekend, but Jason also proposed to me around Easter time! :0)
Here’s the story:
April 6, 2006 – Jason told me that we were going to eat at “our” restaurant for dinner – Olive Garden. As a back story, we looked at rings the week before, but I had no idea that he purchased the ring the following day!
After dinner, we went back to my parents house to exchange Easter baskets! He told me that the eggs had surprises in them….so started to open them – only, I didn’t open the big egg first like he thought I would. (I like to save the best surprises for last!)
He convinced me to open the big egg and when I did, I was shocked!! I couldn’t believe he bought the ring!
He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I (of course) said yes! :0)
We called our family and our friends to tell them the good news! I was beyond excited!!
We had trouble deciding our wedding date. Jason was in college at the time and wasn’t graduating until the following May (May of 2007). We briefly discussed a wedding in August of 2006 (which would leave us with only 4 months to plan). If you know me, you know that I am major OCD and the thought of a wedding in 4 months made me panic. We decided instead to get married on Jason’s Spring Break weekend, then use his Spring Break week for our Honeymoon! :0) The rest is history!
Here’s a few of our engagement pictures:

Incase you were wondering, we had a FANTASTIC 5th Anniversary weekend! I have plenty of pictures to share! Stay tuned!! :0)
