Sweat Pink Vlog #4

Today’s Vlog topic comes to you once again from my Sweat Pink Ambassador friends!

Missed past Vlogs? Here they are:

Sweat Pink Ambassadors Vlog #1
Sweat Pink Ambassador Vlog #2
Sweat Pink Ambassador Vlog #3

Today’s questions:

If you're the racing type, what's your favorite distance and why? What do you think about while working out? In other words, how do you stay entertained?

Today’s Vlog is a short one due to the fact I was watching the World Series and was quite nervous about the outcome! :0)

I’m sad that baseball is over for the season, but I’m so glad for my favorite former Astro and Philly, Hunter Pence. :0)

Also, for anyone interested, I have six additional sets of Frush coupons to send out! If you’d like a set, please send an email to kren2700@gmail.com and I’ll send them right out to you! First come first serve! :0)

Fun Weekend with Friends…& Superheroes!

Yet another exciting weekend in my corner of the world! :0)

On Thursday night, I met up with a few friends for our usual Homecoming Parade tradition! :0)

IMG_8836

We had a lot of fun and enjoyed watching the floats pass by! Our strategy is always to stand as close to the judges table as possible so we see the best of the best! :0)  We also collect quite a bit of candy in that area! Seems as if every float throws a ton of candy at the judges who never move from their position in the stands. I’m not complaining by any means! :0)

IMG_8827

First place float!  It looked great and you could tell they put a lot of hard work into it!

On Saturday morning, my SUPER friends and I set out for an 8 mile run! It was “Halloween Saturday” after all!

We had so much fun dressing up in costume last year (and for 21 miles at that!), we decided to do it again!

IMG_8867

We stood on many street corners just like this, but only when cars passed by! Heather’s Quote of the Day: “We are SO going to get arrested!” Hehe!

IMG_8866

The Dynamic Duo!

IMG_8865

A friend from church told me that one of her friends posted “I just saw Batman and Robin running downtown!” on their facebook. I found it quite amusing (ok – honestly, I freaked out from excitement) and I told her to respond that she knows Robin! :0)

Even better than dressing up in costume for Saturday’s run – my knee recovered from my last Half Marathon and I had NO knee pain while running! Yay!

After our run, I met up with Kenzie for lunch, then went over to church for our Fall Harvest Festival!

IMG_8870

Our job was to drive around in the golf cart and make sure candy/prize buckets stayed full.

 IMG_8877

I had SO much fun being at Harvest Fest, hanging out with Kenzie, and riding around in the golf cart!

After Harvest Fest, my dad and I drove over to Cowboy Stadium (not the one in Dallas!) for the McNeese Homecoming Game!

IMG_8899

I was SO cold! We left during the 3rd quarter and listened to the rest of the game on the radio while we waited in the LONGEST Starbucks line EVER. I had fun with my dad and really enjoyed spending time with him! :0)

As for this week, it’s back to the usual! Hope you have a fabulous Monday!!

Biking & Scavengers & Cinderella…Oh My!

Another weekend is upon us and I realized that I completely forgot to share about my fun times last weekend!

Saturday morning, I ran 6 miles with Heather, then I rode 10 miles on my bike. Heather was running 21 miles in training for the Pensacola Marathon and since my distance for the day was much shorter than hers, I decided to go along for the ride! :0)

IMG_8696

After the run/ride, I drove over to a local high school track to wait on a few friends from church. I was asked to be a “clue” in a “We’re Going to Disney World Surprise” scavenger hunt and of course, I was more than happy to oblige!! A friend from church is taking her niece on a trip to Disney World during the Thanksgiving Holidays. It’s her high school graduation gift and she wanted to make the “big reveal” super special!

  IMG_8702 IMG_8701

My clue led her to the Pumpkin Patch!

IMG_8706

They also made her dress up like Wonder Woman! Among other things, she also had to stand on a very busy street corner and sing “I’m a Little Tea Pot”…..

Saturday afternoon, we drove to Texas to visit with my brother and sister-in-law. They moved into their new home last weekend, so we drove over to see it and hang out!

IMG_8732

Know what they have in Texas? DAIRY QUEEN! I haven’t had Dairy Queen in at least a year! I’m kind of glad that all of the ones near my town closed! Hah!

On Sunday, I got to be a part of something incredibly fun!!

IMG_8736

A little girl my friend Kim baby sits for turned 5 and wanted a Cinderella Party. Kim asked if I would be willing to come to the party dressed as Cinderella and of course I said yes!

IMG_8749

The birthday girl! :0)

Those kids were ADORABLE! Each of them were dressed like Cinderella and they were in awe that “Cinderella” came to her birthday party. Yes I realize that I’m not meant to be a blonde, but those 5 year old girls had no clue. One even asked if I remembered her from her last trip to Disney World when she was 3 years old. It was hilarious!

They also asked how I arrived at the party….they wanted to see my “car”! I told them that my horse and carriage were out for repair and they didn’t believe me. Instead, I told them that my Fairy Godmother said “Bippity Boppity Boo!” and that’s how I arrived – and they believed me!  Oh the mind of a child….

IMG_8752

I guess you are never too old to believe! :0)

In other news, I was very saddened to hear about the American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation team pulling out of participating in the Rock and Roll New Orleans Half/Full Marathon.

NYC & Canada Day #6: Saint John, New Brunswick

Don’t forget about my Frush Giveaway! Contest ends Friday! :0)

------------------------------------------------

NYC & Canada Day #5: Halifax, Canada
NYC & Canada Day #4: First At Sea Day
NYC & Canada Day #3: Boarding the Disney Magic
NYC & Canada Day #2: Wicked!!
NYC & Canada Day #2: New York Yankees

NYC & Canada Day #1: Exploring New York

Following our GORGEOUS day in Halifax, we were met with this sight:

DSC_0963

Rain.

Not just any rain, friends. No, this rain was the remnants of Hurricane Isaac.

DSC_0967

I left my hometown for this vacation just a few short days after Hurricane Isaac passed through (thankfully it was not bad AT ALL), then met up with him again in Saint John. Just my luck.

After breakfast, we joined our tour group in the Walt Disney Theater, then made our way through the Pier to our tour bus!

cruise1

A neat fact: We were the very first cruise ship to disembark at the brand new Diamond Jubilee Cruise Terminal! You could feel the excitement in the air!

DSC_0973

Each lady leaving the terminal received a rose and each man received a Saint John pin. :0)

DSC_0985

Our tour bus for the day was the Saint John Sea Dogs team bus!

First stop:  The Bay of Fundy at low tide

 DSC_0976

The Bay has the highest tides in the world – at this point, the tides were at their lowest point of the day.

DSC_0982  DSC_0989

We originally booked the train excursion
(see train on the bridge?)……

DSC_0994

….then I cancelled it after reading awful reviews online! I was very grateful for the reviews! So there you go, reading reviews can make a world of difference!

DSC_1016

I love this house!

DSC_1022

At low tide, a lot of the boats were on the bottom of the sea floor!

Next stop: Lunch! A yummy Seafood Chowder! :0)

DSC_1030 DSC_1035

After lunch, we walked around on the beach and looked for wishing rocks!

DSC_1043

A wishing rock is one where a line makes a complete circle around the rock. Jason found one!

 DSC_1054

After leaving the beach, we returned to see tide slowly coming in! A few of the boats were no longer on the bottom of the sea floor.

DSC_1068

We also stopped to see one of the few remaining covered bridges in the world! In the distance, you can see a 2nd covered bridge as well….

DSC_1081

During our potty break, I climbed to the top of the Lighthouse! :0)

DSC_1086 DSC_1089

DSC_1101

One of our final stops was the City Market.

DSC_1103

Again, I wish we had something like this in my hometown!

DSC_1105 DSC_1120

I’m not kidding, this dude SNORED the ENTIRE trip. And LOUD, too. I wanted to hit him in the head several times. Hah!

DSC_1122

For our last stop, we returned to the Bay of Fundy at high tide.

DSC_1134

It’s not as easy to tell in pictures, but I definitely noticed a huge difference!

DSC_1142 DSC_1151 DSC_1154

After returning to the ship, we changed for dinner which was Pirate Night!

DSC_1181 DSC_1184

Wrong kind of pirate, Jason….that’s a bandit!

DSC_1218

After dinner we bundled up (it was COLD), then made our way to Deck 10 for the Pirate Party.

DSC_1233 DSC_1251

The Pirate Party was fun as usual and I was surprised by the lack of people out on deck. I chalked it up to the fact that our ship wasn’t full and the weather outside was cold/windy/rainy.

DSC_1256 DSC_1259

Fireworks at sea!

DSC_1265 DSC_1276

As soon as the party was over, we high tailed it to Topsiders for the buffet. This buffet was moved inside of Topsiders because of the weather. I don’t like the Topsiders set up as much as the one out on deck but oh well. We stuffed our faces (again), then called it a night!

Up Next: our final At Sea Day! :0(
