This past weekend was insane. I feel as if I’m finally getting a chance to breathe and recover and it’s already mid-week!
Friday night, I was a judge at the Louisiana State Kids Funs Arts Festival!
Myself along with two other ladies were given the categories of Human Video and Creative Movement!
Doing our judging thang! :0)
I groaned when I was first given my schedule but in retrospect, it wasn’t all that bad! I started around 7:15 p.m. and didn’t end until after 10 p.m. Overall, it was a ton of fun and I loved seeing the kids perform. Several performances really touched and ministered to me. I think kids don’t always realize their importance or meaning – they really CAN do a lot if given the right direction!
Saturday morning, I woke up and met my friends (before the crack of dawn) for an early morning 6 mile run!
We ran hard and really pushed ourselves and it felt awesome!
After our run, I hopped in my car and drove to a neighboring town for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K event sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
This event was a ton of fun with a few interesting moments, needless to say! Check out my race recap here. I loved seeing pink EVERYWHERE!!
I met up with my husband for breakfast after the run, then took a nice looooong 3 hour nap at home!
Saturday night, two long time friends and I decided that it was time for a girls night! We had a LOT of fun (as you can see) and I loved every minute!
Sunday was an interesting day as well! (No rest for the weary!)
My day began with church followed by lunch and a trip to Sams to pick up goody trays for that evening’s Honor ceremony. After returning from Sams, I helped set up for our evening event, then crossed campus to the Children’s Building where we held tryouts for our upcoming Kids Christmas production!
Two girls were honored for completing a jam-packed three year curriculum of full of discipleship training and learning God’s Word. This ceremony is a very special one (we hold one each year) and I was so excited for these two lovely young ladies.
After the ceremony, I went out to eat with my friends, then returned home completely exhausted!! What a weekend!
Thank goodness I have the week to recuperate! I have a Half Marathon coming up this weekend and lets just say I’m really nervous – I know how un-predictable race day can be and I put too much pressure on myself! I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying that all goes well!
Have a fabulous Wednesday! :0)
it looks like you had an awesome weekend! (: itsaharleyyylife.com
