My Grandfather

I’ll admit, I wasn’t one to jump on the Days of Thankfulness bandwagon on Facebook. Don’t get me wrong – I love reading what others are thankful for and I AM a very grateful person despite how the beginning of this post sounds! I know we hear this all the time, but I firmly believe that Thankfulness should be an attitude of the heart, EVERYDAY….not just on Thanksgiving day and not only during the month of November.

However, since this week IS Thanksgiving and all, I’m going to take the time to share a few things that I’m thankful for with you!

Today, I am thankful for my grandfather. He’s 92 years old and he is very near and dear to my heart.

The reason I’ve haven’t been around much since last week is because my grandfather had a few health issues that really concerned me over the weekend so I spent most of today with him at Doctor appointments.

Thankfully (see, there’s that thankfulness again!) his problems are all fixable (yay!) and hopefully he will feel better in a few days. In my line of work, it’s easy to jump to the wrong conclusions at times, especially when you see what I do on a daily basis. However, I was thinking the worst for NO reason at all and after a little healing time, my grandfather will be on the mend!

So here’s my thankful moment for today – I am very very thankful for the time I’ve been able to spend with my grandfather. I’m thankful that he’s been with us for 92 + years and I pray he’s around a whole lot longer (today he told me he’s going to live to see 105!). :0) Each time I think about it, I thank God  for each new day that I have to spend with my grandfather. He’s a mess (because he’s 92 years old and thinks he can say whatever he wants to say no matter where he’s at) but he keeps me on my toes and he makes me laugh! :0) He’s a wonderful part of my life and I’m very grateful to have him here with me!

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!! :0)
