Fitness Friday–June 28, 2013

It’s Friday yet again! Friday…Friday…and now I have that song stuck in my head. Thank you, Friday.

Here’s a look at my week

Saturday – 8 mile run with Kelli, Heather, and Rebecca followed by our End of the Season Party!
Sunday – Rest Day; Squats, Lunges, and leg exercises
Monday – 3 mile run before work
Tuesday – 5 mile run – I ran 2 miles before work, then 3 miles after work
Wednesday – Squats, Lunges, and leg exercises
Thursday – 2 mile run
Friday – Squats, Lunges, and leg exercises

I’m trying to build my weekly mileage up slowly to help prevent IT Band issues. I plan on running 10 miles on Saturday, which would make a total of 20 miles for the week. Not too bad!

I’m very pleased to announce that I was asked to be a Zensah Ambassador!

Zensah

My box of goodies arrived yesterday and I can’t wait to try out my new compression socks/leg sleeves!

Even though I was only running 2 miles yesterday afternoon, I couldn’t help it – I wore the tank top anyway! It’s so soft and comfortable, I love it!

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday! What are your weekend plans?

Disclaimer: I received free product as a part of the Zensah Ambassador program.

  8. Holy compression! Haha I haven't tried the Zensah brand yet. I've tested ProCompression and just got some 2XU socks and sleeves.... Zensah may be next! Do you like compression ankle socks? I don't seem to understand the benefit there, unless they're really supportive of the ankle area

  12. Have you had IT Band issues recently, or just worried in general? I dealt with a pretty bad one after my marathon last fall. I do lots of rolling, hip stretching, and strength work to stay away from it now. Single-leg jump rope squats, and band work all seem to have helped.

    1. Yes, a few years ago, I dealt with ITBand issues on my left leg. I was in training for a Full and couldn't run it. I also went through 8 weeks of PT. My latest ITBand issue was on my right let. Ugh. Thankfully it seems to be behind me now! :0) Glad you found ways to help with your ITBand...a lot of those remedies worked for me as well.

  13. Congrats on becoming a Zensah Ambassador. The tank top looks really nice on you! I loved reading about your board game stories....we loved the game of Life and stuffing all the extra kids sideways in our cars!
