Surprise Birthday Party

On Friday, I eluded to a few special events happening in my neck of the woods over the course of the next few weeks. The “surprise” happened to involve my mother, her 60th birthday, and a surprise party. She reads my blog at times, so I didn’t want to post anything to give our secret away!

Surprise parties are something my dad and I enjoy throwing, together. We surprised my grandfather on his 90th birthday a couple of years ago and we surprised my mother on her 60th birthday just a few days ago.  Two for two, I’d say we’re getting the hang of this!

We had a great night and really enjoyed spending it with friends, family, and special party guests!

Have you ever thrown a surprise party or had a surprise party thrown for you? Did the special party guest/you suspect anything?

  1. I freaking LOVE surprise parties! How nice of you to throw one for your mom (and how great does she look?!?!).

I want to throw one for my sister's 40th but I feel like she would not appreciate that... I want to do it anyway, because she deserves a big celebration.

I have had a couple thrown for me and they've been amazing. Both times, however I was not dressed to impressed so I was not happy about that! haha

    1. Thanks! I'll tell her about your kind words! :0) I'm sure your sister would love a surprise party! Good luck if you decide to go ahead with it! My mom's clothing was the one thing we were worried about - she worked that day, so we hoped she wouldn't show up in her scrubs! Whoops! Haha!

I've thrown a couple surprise parties- one for my friend for her 18th (she had no idea) and one for my Grandma for her 89th (she was expecting something big for her 90th and was definitely surprised). :)

  12. I'd say your Mom was very surprised! I have thrown one surprise party and it was a going away party for my ex-boyfriend disguised as a surprise 21st birthday party for me. It sounds very complicated but it was actually pretty fun. He had no idea! My roommates during college then ended up turning around and throwing me a surprise party the next day so I was really shocked!
