Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend Meet-Ups

True to my promise, I’ve had nothing but runDisney on my mind this week – remember “all Disney ‘till Disney”? It’s true! I’ve listened to Disney music in my car, watched a lot of “Walt Disney’s Disneyland” clips while escaping the heat/humidity on the treadmill, and I started setting aside items to pack for our upcoming trip! It’s SO soon, y’all!

If you’re participating in the 2013 Disneyland Half Marathon weekend, chances are a final race information email arrived in your inbox yesterday! (Or if you’re like me…you begged a friend to forward theirs to you…for some reason, I don’t receive runDisney emails!)

If you’ve never participated in a runDisney Meet-Up (like me) and you’ve followed along with many other run Disney Meet-Ups via twitter and social media (like me), then the sight of this tweet probably made your heart race (like mine)!

I’m crossing my fingers and toes and refreshing the Disney Parks Blog page on my laptop quite frequently! Hopefully my strategy will work! :0)

Apart from the official runDisney Disneyland Half Meet-Up, there’s several other group meet-ups going on throughout the weekend. I’m a planner and I like to have everything organized. I realized as I was trying to keep all of the various meet-up dates/times straight, I was making my brain hurt….so I put together a schedule of various meet-up dates/times and I decided to share it with you!

Official runDisney Disneyland Half Marathon Meet-up
To get runners warmed up for Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend, an early morning runDisney meet-up is planned for Friday, August 30, at the Disneyland Resort.
This is an RSVP only event. If your name is on the official list, then you’re in!

Cupcake Meet-up
The event will be held on Friday, August 30 from 2-3 PM. Your donation of $20 will buy you a limited edition cupcake pin, delicious mini cupcakes and an opportunity to connect with fellow runDisney and cupcake lovers - all while benefiting St Jude Children's Research Hospital!
Please note: All profits will be automatically be donated to St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Additional donations will also be accepted. So have fun, have a cupcake (or 4) and help kids beat cancer! Register today:

Endurance Sports Connection Disneyland Meet and Greet
Open to any Endurance Sports Connection Athlete, as well as their friends and family. We will be handing out our awesome swag bags with bacon included………..AND MEDALS!!! The swag bags will be for anyone who registered for the event.  This is a chance to meet some of our athletes face to face so make sure you BRING YOUR CAMERAS for some great photo opportunities and your Rock Star attitude!!

Apart from these extra events, several groups also joined forces to create a “meet-up area” prior to the 5K/10K/Half Marathon races.

Many of us are a part of more than one group, so this gives us the opportunity to hop between groups and say hi to all of our people!  Please check with your group(s) prior to the start of the race to find out their meeting location.
