Remember when I said that it was going to be “all Disney till Disney” around here? Well, I was right!
The majority of this week was spent finalizing plans for our upcoming San Diego and Disneyland vacay!
In 2008 for our 1st wedding Anniversary
Fact: I am a planner. When we travel to new locations, I tend to get stressed out…especially if I don’t know what I’m doing (this goes for San Diego, renting a car while there, Sea World, etc). I’m not going to lie, Disneyland had me a little stressed out for a few moments this week, too (it’s better now). Although I’ve been to Disneyland in the past, there’s a few new things I want to see while there (such as Cars Land and World of Color). After looking at our schedule, my brain was having a hard time fitting everything in. No worries though, I’m pretty sure it’s all going to be ok!
Here’s a further idea of sightseeing plans:
San Diego
- Sea World (purchased the tickets yesterday through Southwest….much better deal than through the Sea World website! Bonus – our tickets are 7 day passes!) Didn’t need 7 day passes, but they were still cheaper than any one day pass I could find! Score!
- San Diego Zoo
- Old Town
- La Jolla to watch the seals
Disneyland
- Downtown Disney: Tortilla Jo’s and Earl of Sandwich
- Grand Californian: Storytellers
- Disneyland Park: Carnation Café (wanted breakfast but it’s going to have to be lunch)
- Disneyland Hotel: Steakhouse 55 (our favorite from last trip! Can’t wait to eat here again!)
- Park time
- Expo/Races
A few of our dinners even include time with these lovely folks…Heather and Jen (and our husbands, of course)!
There are a few gaps in our schedule while in Disneyland for lunch/dinner. Anyone have suggestions for good quick service places to try?
Aren’t we a bunch of goof balls? If you think of anything ideas or things we need to do/see/eat, let me know! :0) Have a fabulous day!
P.S. – Lacey Levine (the girl from yesterday’s blog about American Idol) did very well at her auditions in Austin, Texas. Let’s just say she’s a VERY happy girl right now! :0)
Can't wait!! I wish I was staying in Cali a little longer so I'll be cramming Disneyland into 2 days!! It'll be fun though :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it will be fun I do agree! Will hopefully run into you sometime during the weekend!
DeleteYou HAVE to get a corndog from the red wagon in Disneyland. Seriously. I don't even normally like corndogs, and this thing was amazing. I would buy a ticket to Disneyland JUST for this corndog! lol.
ReplyDeleteOn my goodness this sounds like one amazing corn dog! Thanks for the recommendation!!
DeleteSounds like a fun trip! I was in San Diego this past December for the first time and it was so nice. La Jolla is beautiful! I also went to the zoo, that is fun :) Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteI am a planner as well and we are heading out west for TEN days!! AGH can you imagine what my itinerary looks like?! lol

Oh my goodness 10 day!! Sounds like quite an adventure!! Excited for you!
DeleteYour trip plans sound great. You may want to go to the Hotel del Coronado for a drink or lunch while you are visiting San Diego. The place looks just like the Grand Floridian, or rather the GF copied the Hotel del!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Thanks so much, we will definitely look into that!
DeleteI've never been to DL but I'm so excited about your plans! San Diego was (in my humble opinion..) the most beautiful city I've ever been too! Hope you have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear!! I can't wait to see it!!
DeleteI love the magic picture at the end with Captain Hook.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever eaten at Wine Country in California Adventures? If you haven't I totally recommend it! We LOVED it when we were out there - the service was amazing and the food was outstanding and we happened to time our meal just right and it was at a parade time and we had a table overlooking the parade for our meal and then we chilled post parade it was WONDERFUL! totally recommend it!
I haven't tried that restaurant, but it was marked as a possibility. Thanks for the idea!! How neat you were able to watch the parade, too! Love that!!
DeleteThis sounds like such a fun vacation! I have been to San Diego once, and it was so long ago I don't really remember it. I really want to go back, though, and combining it with a Disneyland vacation sounds awesome. Can't wait to hear more about your plans!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I definitely like seeing new places but the planning part can be stressful!
DeleteTry the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country. They have an amazing friend green tomato sandwich w/ sweet potato fries. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh that sounds yummy! Thanks so much!!
DeleteThats so exciting! I just booked our rooms this week at the Boardwalk for the WDW Half, and I'm jumping with excitement!
ReplyDeleteSO exciting!! YAY!
DeleteI can't wait for Disney Land! It's gonna be a new adventure.. Excited for the World of Color!
ReplyDeleteYES! So excited to see World of Color for the first time!
Deletewoo hoo see you soon! It's not counter service but cafe orleans was really nice last time.
ReplyDeleteWe had Mickey beignets in Cafe Orleans! Might have to do that again...so yummy!
DeleteDon't mean to intrude, but if you want just the beignets, you can get them without the wait at the Mint Julep Bar on the backside of the restaurant. :)
DeleteGood to know! Thanks, Kim! That may save us some time!! :0)
DeleteWe really like Bengal's BBQ, Flo's V8, and Paradise Garden Grill! Hope to run into you guys!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips, Jenn! We had Bengal's last time but haven't been to Paradise Garden Grill or Flo's! Will add those to my list! :0)
DeleteOh how exciting! Y'all are gonna have a blast!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mindy! :0)
