Wednesday – Rest Day
Thursday – Squats/Lunges

Tomorrow is my final long run before my next Full Marathon. It’s hard to believe that just two months ago, I decided to bump up from the Half to the Full!
This week was quite eventful, especially last weekend. After Saturday’s run, I helped with a wedding shower for a friend. I was gone most of the day and wasn’t home long before hitting the road again because a few friends invited us out for Hibachi. We had a great time!
Instead of ordering from the grill, I decided on sushi – a Disney roll, of course! I’m not quite sure why it’s called a Disney roll…but despite the name, I really do like it! :0)
On Tuesday, I went for a lunch-time run and thoroughly enjoyed myself! It was a beautiful sunny day – I wish we had those more often! (Today, I’m at home because I was called off of work….this crazy icy winter storm passed through overnight and several of our roads/major bridges are closed. What can I say? We are used to hurricanes, NOT this!!)
This week, several exciting items arrived for our upcoming Princess Half Marathon Weekend…magic bands, luggage tags, and a Sparkle Skirt for my costume! It’s becoming more real now…can’t wait!
Last but not least, I’ve discovered my newest favorite afternoon snack, sliced gala apple with a triangle of Laughing Cow Swiss…it’s delicious!
What’s the most exciting thing that happened to you this week? What’s your favorite (healthy) afternoon snack?
Enjoy taper town! You're going to rock the RNR! PHM is just around the corner! I'm getting excited too :)
ReplyDeleteKaren @karenlovestorun

DeleteOh, good luck on your races! I tried to sign up for the Disney race... but was too late! You'll be great!
ReplyDeleteI like hummus and crackers for my afternoon snack right now.

DeleteYay, we got our magic bands too! Your skirt is beautiful! Can't wait to see the costume come together!
ReplyDeleteBesides the magic bands, I also got a training log and a book from Runner's World this week.
My favorite snack is grapefruit.
You received lots of fun things in the mail this week! Yay! Have a great weekend!
DeleteGreat job this week Karen! Good luck on your last long run before NOLA! And I LOVE seeing those magic bands! I wanna go back!!! ;-)

DeleteI love laughing cow swiss! I eat it those flat pretzel chips, so yummy!
ReplyDeleteOooh that sounds delicious, too! Yummy!
DeleteYou're gonna do great at the Full!!
ReplyDeleteLove the Sparkle Skirt - my guess is you are either going as Belle, or maybe Snow White?
Thanks, Lauren! Ding ding! You're a winner! :D
DeleteGood luck in the RnR NOLA Karen! I can't wait to read all about it...and, of course, GSC! :)
ReplyDeleteFave healthy treat is a banana drizzled with natural, unsweetened peanut butter, a sprinkling of dark chocolate chips and some unsweetened flaked coconut. Super indulgent and healthy! :)
Thanks, Lisa! Yumm...your favorite snack sounds amazing!
DeleteHealthy snack...froyo topped with lots of fresh fruit!
ReplyDeleteOooh yes, FroYou ranks high on my list!! :D
DeleteYour Disney roll is making me crave Splitsville sushi (which I have a reservation for during GSC!). Is that Snow crab in there? I'm so jealous. Snow crab is hard to find here.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's snow crab! :0) Haven't been to Splitsville yet, but I definitely need to try it out in the future!
DeleteI love that you get an ice day! So normal for us, but I'm honestly so sick of the crappy cold weather. Did I read that right ? Three miles with Jason?
ReplyDeleteHah yes you did!! He's registered for the Royal Family 5K with a friend...so I occasionally run/walk with him! :0)
DeleteGo Jason!! Yahoo!!
ReplyDeleteRight?! Excited for him!!
DeleteMy current go to snacks are clementines, light string cheese, and Quest bars.
ReplyDeleteAll of these sound delicious!
DeleteYou are going to ROCK that marathon girl!! And I LOVE the new sparkle skirt - that is gorgeous! -Christine
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Christine!! I'm in love with SS now...I kinda ordered a sparkle light for New Orleans this weekend....haha!
DeleteI'm finally catching up on blog posts :) It's been a while.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you and your upcoming races, especially the Disney ones, I love the new wristbands. I am off to Disneyland in March for a visit (no running though)
Thanks, Sarah! Have so much fun in Disneyland!! Excited for you!
DeleteYAY! I'm getting excited for Glass Slipper, too! It's going to be a blast. Congrats on your last long run before the full -- my 20-miler before Dopey was rough, but at the same time, it was such a relief to be done! Enjoy your taper (you earned it!) -- you're going to rock the marathon! I'm doing RnR in DC as my second full, and I'm super excited.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jennifer! RnR DC sounds like an amazing race...I hope to run it one day!
