Happy Nurses Week to all my fellow nurses out there! Nurses are truly super heroes in my book! Thanks for all you do!
In honor of this special week, I shared my graduating class photo yesterday on instagram. Spring of 2005, those days seem like they were only a few years ago – hard to believe it’s been 9 years already. I decided to focus on Oncology only a few months out of school and that’s where I’ve been ever since. I love it and haven’t looked back.
BTW, see the photo above? That’s what nursing school will do to you. Eat, sleep, study, repeat. Ugh. Those last few years of nursing school were rough, y’all. Rough. Thankfully, I was able to jump back into my old athletic routine without any problems!
These beauties are from my parents, my biggest supports through nursing school. I look back on those days and shake my head at myself – what a rough ride, definitely one I don’t want to pass through again. I’m glad I had awesome parents to support me through it all!
My husband also brought home a beautiful bouquet of flowers – he said my parents beat him to it again, but it’s ok…I love them all! :0)
The hospital I work for has been great about this week, too – except they’ve fed me way too much junk. I might extend my run this afternoon by an extra mile or two if I can!
Last but not least, I snuck in a 3 mile run before church on Wednesday night. With the temps and crazy humidity, I knew I needed a route with water – this water fountain was just perfect!
This weekend, my parents and I are heading over to Mandeville for a friend’s gender reveal party! Can’t wait to see everyone and hang out together again! Stay tuned on instragram and twitter for all the fun! :0)
What are your weekend plans? Anything exciting happening? Please share, I wanna know all about it!
