During our Wine and Dine Half Marathon trip, Jason and I had the opportunity to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in the Magic Kingdom. It was the second party offered for the 2014 season and happened to be a sold out night. (FYI…despite being sold out, I didn’t feel as if the crowds were ridiculously crazy or anything like that.)
After an unexpected dinner at Be Our Guest (more on that later), we were told that our wristbands for the party could be picked up from a cast member in New Fantasyland. Thankfully, we didn’t have to walk all the way to the very front of the park just for wristbands!
Please note: Extra special park maps for this party are available at various locations throughout the park. These maps are especially important because they give information on parade/fireworks/show times and give all of the the locations for hot chocolate and sugar cookies (you don’t want to miss out on that)!
After saying goodbye to our friends (who didn’t have party tickets), we headed for the Jingle Cruise! Y’all. Seriously…this is the cutest ride ever! I loved it!!
From the ride queue to the boats and even the jokes from each skipper, this entire ride is decked out for the Christmas season. Definitely a must do!
After the Jingle Cruise, we stopped for sugar cookies and hot chocolate in Adventureland before snagging a spot in Frontierland for the first parade!
These candy canes signal locations for sugar cookies and hot chocolate!
These were served inside of the Tortuga Tavern across from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Please note: On party nights, not all restaurants in the Magic Kingdom are open for food services (you will want to check the park map for further information).
As we left Tortuga Tavern, we noticed that the line for the parade was just making its way to Frontierland where the first parade begins. We decided to grab a spot on the sidelines and wait the parade out (we had about 20 minutes). I was shocked that we were able to find a spot at the ropes so close to parade time, especially with a sold out party!
Please note: It’s been noted in the past that the second parade at special party events is less crowded – maybe something to keep in mind for the future.
Once Upon a Christmastime at Christmas… (now that song is stuck in my head!) :)
I loved the addition of the Fozen cast to this year’s parade!
Yoohooo! Big summer blowout!
Wreck It Ralph was there, too!
How adorable is this?! Look at their hands….Woody and Jessie are making a heart! Awww…
Toy Soldiers, my favorite!!
Once the parade passed, we snuck around the corner and made a bee-line for Big Thunder Mountain. We walked right on the ride with virtually no wait at all!
The next item on the agenda was the fireworks. As we made our way to Main Street and the castle hub, we spied this beauty. I just love Cinderella’s Castle all lit up at night during the Christmas season!
Please note: During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, “Holiday Wishes” takes the place of the regular Wishes fireworks show. These are definitely a must-do!
One of my favorite parts of Holiday Wishes…I love how they surround you!
We stayed in the same place as the fireworks for the Celebrate the Season castle show.
After the fireworks, we watched Celebrate the Season, then made a bee-line for the Dwarfs Mine Train. Thankfully, the second parade was about to start so the line for the Mine Train was only about 25 minutes long or so! Yay!
As we walked around New Fantasyland (in the back near Dumbo), we discovered a character greeting spot, so we stopped for a few pictures!
We didn’t wait in line for Sandy Claws (from Nightmare Before Christmas)…it was a rather long line because he was a new addition to the party this year.
It was approaching midnight as we finally made our way back to Main Street. It’s crazy how fast the time goes by at these parties!
Snow on Main Street!
We said goodbye to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and a super fun evening! Until next time…see ya real soon!
Have you ever attended a special party event at Disney World? What were your thoughts?

I LOVED the Very Merry Christmas Party when we were there. When we were there President Obama's children were there and we happen to see them a few times.
ReplyDeleteYou took fabulous photos Karen and how nice that you got to enjoy Be Our Guest last minute. The atmosphere in that restaurant is great and so relaxing while in a theme park. Food is pretty good too!I absolutely love this party and we nearly booked to go this week, very last minute. Our new home construction has caused alot of stress, but we really need to see it through. Next year we will try to get a family group to go.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures turned out beautiful! I love A Very Merry Mickey's Christmas Party!! It is so much fun! Especially the snow of Main Street. The garland swoops make me sad this year. I think that adds a magic touch to the Magic Kingdom. Looks like you had a blast!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you got to go to MVMCP! I really enjoy that too. We didn't get to visit wdw at christmas time this year but we did get to go to MNSSHP for the first time this year so that made up for it!
ReplyDeleteI love all these pictures! It makes me want to go back to Disney!

I highly recommend this place if you are thinking about to find a place for events in New York. Me and my husband had a party yesterday at this Place and it was such a wonderful event.
