After arriving in New Orleans on Saturday, my posse and I headed straight for the Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans race Expo. The Expo was held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and we parked in the lot across the street (for a small fee).
We were all so excited – I love Expo’s and couldn’t wait to discover what it had in store!
This was also most of the group’s first expo and I was excited for them to experience it!
Gotta love the red-carpet entrance! :)
I was in corral 7. Rock ‘n’ Roll divides their bib pickups by number sections, so it was super easy to find mine!
After collecting bibs, we were directed to another area (straight ahead) for bags and shirts. In exchange for a shirt, a little tag with our printed shirt size was torn off the bottom of our bibs. Again, a super easy and smooth flowing process!
Yay! Ready for a fun weekend ahead!
We spent a good bit of time in the merchandise area!
Great job with the theming, Rock ‘n’ Roll!
Kenzie decided to get a shirt and wanted to try it on. Well, the fitting rooms looked like this!
Appropriate for a running event, yes? Hehe!
A new addition to the floor this year was the Brooks Smile Machine. Brooks set up a green screen with props where runners/expo event goers could have their picture taken AND receive a printed 4x6 of it right there on the spot!
Kayla and Mary getting set up!
This is how mine and Kenzie’s turned out! I apologize – it’s a picture of a picture because the digital image isn’t uploaded yet.
I was holding up my number also, and the finger said 13.1…but I couldn’t tell that it wasn’t in the shot. Haha whoops. Fail.
Before leaving the Brooks official merchandise area, we took our usual finish line photo!
We walked around the Expo floor for a long time and I sent Heather a text to let her know we were there. She text back that they just arrived, so we were able to meet up for a few minutes!
Yay friends! It was good to see her!
As we walked away, I heard my name and it was Fred! So good to see and chat with him again, too!
We talked about upcoming Disney events for a few minutes, then said our goodbyes.
After snapping a few final Expo shots, we were on our way!
I really enjoyed the Expo this year, although I feel as if it lacked something. There were no speaker series or seminars this year which was really different to me. I wonder if Rock ‘n’ Roll is cutting those out altogether or if it was just for this event?
Anyway, we had a great time and enjoyed seeing the vendors and what they had to offer. The Expo helped us get even more excited for the races ahead!
Stay tuned for a full race recap later this week!
What’s your favorite part of a race Expo?
The expo was definitely a good one! I could have spent way more time in there lol!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! We spent several hours walking around and checking everything out! :)
DeleteI felt the same about the expo, it was smaller and just not as exciting. It also felt dark in there for some reason. I know they had a stage and speakers at the arizona event a couple weeks ago so i"m not sure. :(
ReplyDeleteHmmm wonder what happened then? I hope they bring the speakers back!
DeleteThis expo looks great! Can't wait to read about your race recap! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! It will be up early this week! :)
DeleteLooks like you had a blast! RnR expos are definitely among of the best -- and I always love all the extra photo opps/fun! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, me too!! I couldn't agree more! :D
