This spring, I have several exciting race events ahead and I can’t wait!
Each of these events are equally as exciting to me because they each hold a different purpose. Hopefully some goals will be reached by the end of the spring! (I’m crossing my fingers for it, anyway!)
First up (this weekend) is the Louisiana Half Marathon. I ran this race a week after completing Goofy’s Challenge in 2013 and had an awesome time! The weather was perfect and I loved everything about the course. This race takes runners around the LSU lakes and out near Tiger Stadium. The course is nearly flat (with the exception of a crazy bridge at the end) and the on-course cheerleaders are great! I’m excited to run this awesome race once again!

The following weekend is Rock N Roll New Orleans! Second to Disney, this is my favorite race series! I love the expo, the atmosphere, the on-course entertainment, the medals…I just really enjoy this event!

This will be my sixth RnR NOLA event – so far, I’ve run 3 Full Marathons with them and 2 weekends from now will make 3 Half Marathons with them!

….and to top it off, all runners who participate in both events receive the Louisiana Double Down medal! I kinda talked my sister in law into running Baton Rouge with me so she can receive this medal, too…whoops!

Y’all know me, I’m a sucker for a challenge and extra bling!
Speaking of challenges, the next event on my spring calendar includes a little trip to see the mouse! Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend and Glass Slipper Challenge (Enchanted 10K + Princess Half Marathon) is coming up and will be here before we know it! I can’t wait to spend time with friends, visit the parks, eat awesome food, and run throughout the weekend! I haven’t fully decided on costumes yet but I’m working on it…
As an added bonus, we are setting sail on the Disney Dream (first time ever) for the Castaway Challenge!
I’m looking forward to running the Castaway Cay 5K once again! It’s going to be a week filled with lots of fun and new adventures!
There’s a few additional races I’m also debating on running, but I’m not 100% sure yet (aka I haven’t registered yet). I decided to take a year off of running full marathons to see if it helped my IT Band improve. The jury is still out on that one. :)
So, here’s to a fun filled couple of months and a few goals that I want to meet!
Happy Running!
Will I see you at any of these events? :) What’s your spring racing calendar look like?

ReplyDeleteI hope it gets better for you too! Have fun running! :)
DeleteThat is so exciting you are taking the Disney cruise for the castaway challenge after Princess. I hope they do that again next year....my coach and I are planning to do the cruise after marathon weekend.
