After Saturday’s (blah) 10 mile run with a tweaky knee, I kicked the cross training up a notch this week. On Monday, I stupidly decided to do a workout with Bob, THEN run 3 miles. That was seriously one of the dumbest things I’ve ever done. My legs were so dead the entire run. I definitely learned a lesson there and will never do that again!
I do like the Metabolic workout because both parts focus on knee/leg strength and include a lot of squats and lunges (like my PT routines)…..just alone, not combined with a run!
I did take time to admire the gorgeous day on Monday! It was warm and felt so nice to get out there and sweat!
Tuesday’s run went much better – my legs didn’t feel quite so…dead.
I also saw one of the coolest rainbows I’d ever seen!
Isn’t that neat?
Last weekend, I finally bit the bullet and purchased airline tickets for this year’s hall of fame induction. I’ve had the hotel booked for months but was waiting on airfare to drop. It’s crazy expensive to travel in the summer! I’ve never ever paid this much for airfare, like ever!
This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for my dad, Jason, and I. My dad and I have been discussing a trip to the baseball hall of fame as long as I can remember. When one of our favorite players (Craig Biggio) retired from the Astros, we both said we would visit when he was inducted into the HOF. Well, that will take place this July in Cooperstown, NY. I finally decided that no airline price can take the place of memories and experiences made with loved ones, especially if it’s a life-experience of high importance. Suddenly our dream is becoming a reality! Another one to cross off the bucket list! I. Can’t. Wait.
Also, you may have noticed that I mentioned today is a “travel day”. Well…..this weekend I’ve been invited to Winnsboro, Louisiana to run their Annual Geaux Fit Catfish Classic 5K. After doing a little research, I discovered that Winnsboro is not very far from Natchez, MS – I’ve never been to Natchez (or Winnsboro for that matter) and have always wanted to visit plantation homes there, so this is going to be a fun weekend! I’m always up for a new adventure! To top it off, it’s also our Anniversary weekend, too! :)
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend. Remember the reason we celebrate is not because of a bunny who brings us chocolate, it’s because of the One who sacrificed so much for us. If you’re spending time with family this weekend, have so much fun!! Happy Easter! :)
What are your weekend plans? Have you ever been to Cooperstown? I need planning tips…please help! Haha!
Have a happy easter! I hope your legs feel better and rested soon!
