Hi everyone and happy Monday!
We've recently returned from an incredibly magical time on the high seas with Disney Cruise Line and we had a blast! The timing was perfect as well because I reached week 19 of my pregnancy while on the cruise and it's not recommended for women to cruise past 24 weeks of their pregnancy! Although I was slightly worried about not having access to my MD's office or even internet access, I didn't let that deter my fun (and as a matter of fact, I never needed my MD's office at all). Since I'm still sorting through pictures of our trip, I'll start today off with a glimpse of my weekend after we returned home. Hopefully the DCL pics will be ready starting tomorrow! :)
On Friday, we traveled home (which wasn't far...maybe 3 hours). I also made Jason ride the Galveston ferry on our way out of Galveston, Texas where we saw a pod of dolphins! It was really neat!
On Saturday morning, I decided to hit the road for a run/walk. I'm still doing the 4:1 method and so far so good! It had been at least a week since I'd run anything over 5 miles, so I knew I needed it! My body felt great - no knee pain or anything. My nose did bleed a little which was incredibly random...but the air was dry and cool for a change (my sinuses have also been acting up), so that's what I'm attributing it to.
The rest of Saturday was spent napping, unpacking, shopping for our upcoming gender reveal, and preparing for our Sunday night service at church where we honored one of our girls who reached an achievement level in one of our Wednesday night programs. The weekend was definitely jam packed for sure!
Anyone else ever return from Disney with hoards of shampoo/conditioner and lotion? Hah..whoops!
I'm so excited about my new DCL charm for my Disney Pandora bracelet! I received a Disney gift card from a friend for my birthday and used it towards the purchase of the charm. So much fun!
Oh yes, how could I forget my spoiled rotten babies at home? They were SO excited to see us. In fact, my friend spent the night with them the evening before we returned home and Pixie (the one pictured above) heard my voice on the voicemail. Apparently that set her off and she did not stop whining the rest of the night. Jesus help me when the baby comes! Haha!
We also finally decided how we are going to do our gender reveal on Saturday! I kept tossing up the ideas of balloons/cupcakes/cake...etc and nothing "stuck" with either Jason or myself. Right before we left, we had the idea to find something on the boat to use for the reveal. After googling Disney Parks baby, we found pink and blue Mickey and Minnie stuffed animals that we could use and we were all set!
Well, we arrived on the boat and guess who was out on the shelf? Only the blue Mickey. Whomp whomp. After discussing a plan B, we came up with nothing. A few nights later, I randomly decided to stop by the shop on board the ship and guess what I found?!?!
Both Minnie AND Mickey were out for sale! YAY!
This week, I'm going to have someone that's not attending the party wrap one of these guys in a box for Saturday. My official scan is on Wednesday morning, so we won't have the "secret envelope" until then. I'm so excited I can't hardly contain myself! Five days and counting!!! Eeek!
Everyone seems to be mixed...I've had "it's a girl" and I've also had the same for boy. My father in law says he's going to wear both pink and blue to the party because he wants to be right! Haha!
Anyway, I hope you all had a great week and are having the opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous fall weather! I'm loving it here! Have a wonderful Monday!
How was your weekend? Anyone run Wine & Dine, Vegas, or Avengers?
Love the baby Minnie and Mickeys! So cute! Glad you had a great trip and were able to enjoy the cruise to its fullest! :) -C
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Christine!! :)
DeleteLove that pandora charm! Last time we cruised two years ago I wasn't collecting charms yet so I didn't get it, but it's on my radar for next time!
ReplyDeleteI love it too! There were three DCL exclusive ones so it was hard to choose my favorite but I love the ship! :)
DeleteGlad to hear that you guys had a great trip! Funny story - when we were at Disney back in August for our gender reveal we decided that we wanted to get a blue Mickey after finding out that we're having a boy. We searched all over for the blue Mickey and could only find the pink Minnies. On our last day, we asked a cast member to look up the stock in the system, and we basically went on a scavenger hunt to find the blue Mickey. And we finally found him at one of the shops on the Boardwalk just as we got ready to leave for the beach.
ReplyDeleteAww I'm so glad you guys found one!! Crazy how it goes sometimes!
DeleteThose stuffed animals are adorable. Could someone at your doctor's office wrap it up in the box?
ReplyDeleteYes, someone from the upstairs department is going to wrap it for me! :)
DeleteI can't wait to hear more about your cruise! I'm debating on going on my first Disney cruise next year. They seem incredible.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I guess you can say I kind "ran" Wine n' Dine. Haha
Oh man..I heard about the whole Wine & Dine thing! So sorry it was another nasty year weather wise! You would love a Disney cruise!!
DeleteSounds like you had a wonderful vacation. I take toiletries from hotels and cruises to donate to the battered women's shelter in town. They really need that stuff so I like to take it for that reason.
ReplyDeleteThat's an incredible idea!! Thanks, Pam...I'll have to look into that!!
DeleteGender reveal...how exciting!!!!!! Can't wait to hear all about your cruise!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mindy! We can't wait to find out!! :)
DeleteGlad you were able to have that getaway before the baby comes! So during these gender reveal parties, does the couple know the gender or are they just as surprised as the guests?
ReplyDeleteThanks! We had a great time!! As far as the gender reveal, we don't plan on knowing ahead of time, but I've seen it done both ways. :)
