4 Month Baby Update

On the 5th of August, Brayden turned four months old. Although that was this past Friday, I waited until today to write this post because he had his four month appointment yesterday afternoon. I mainly wanted to have the latest stats on him for this update.

I cannot believe how much he's changed and grown over the course of the past month! I didn't feel as if he changed much between 2 and 3 months but I definitely feel like there's been a big change between 3 and 4 months!

I'm also a bad mom and forgot to purchase bigger white onesies prior to taking these pictures. Whoops. I found some at Target the day after these pictures were taken, of course.

On to Brayden's stats!

Height: 26 1/4 inches
Weight: 16 pounds 1/2 ounce and in the 90th percentile for both height and weight.
Clothing: 3 months and some 3-6 months
Diapers: Size 2
Nicknames: Captain, Cowboy, Sugars, Sweet Love, "The Mick"

"The Mick" is my dad's nickname for Brayden. He wanted Brayden's first name to be Mickey and his middle name to be Mantle...aka Mickey Mantle #7, the famous hall of fame Yankees player. Since we obviously told him no, he decided that Brayden's nickname would be "The Mick", and pretty much calls him that all the time. It still makes me laugh!

Likes:

    • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!

    • Car rides
    • Smiling and laughing
    • His play mat
    • Attention - especially when people make silly faces at him
    • Blowing bubbles

(Yes, I realize he was on the counter in his Bumbo...and yes, I was paying close attention the entire time. He only stayed up there for a picture then I took him out of the Bumbo.)

    • Bright lights
This past month has brought so many changes, new developments, and firsts with our little boy!

We heard his laugh for the first time and it was SO cute! He's a happy baby most of the time - when he's unhappy though, WATCH OUT!! He will turn on the tears so fast, too...you never know when they are coming!

Brayden officially upgraded to his "big boy" bathtub (from his newborn sink tub) and he is LOVING the water! It's so much fun to watch him splash and have a great time in the tub!

He's still sleeping through the night without any problems! Last week, he had a few nights where he woke up around 3:30 a.m. but ended up soothing himself back to sleep. It hasn't happened since, though! This past week, he also began (randomly) fighting his sleep, although I can't figure out the triggers. It happened on Saturday for two naps and again last night before bedtime, but hasn't happened any other time. Thankfully, it doesn't last long before he's out.

Although Jason and I have differing opinions, Brayden definitely rolled over twice (on two separate occasions) this past month. Jason says it has to happen consecutively for it to count. I disagree...a roll is a roll, right?! :)

Tummy time has improved SO much! He actually seems to enjoy it for a bit longer now and stays on his tummy for a good while before becoming fussy. I found this awesome toy on Amazon meant for tummy time that includes a mirror, it lights up, and it plays music. Best toy ever!

Brayden loves having his hands by his face and in his mouth. He also began reaching for and grabbing objects over the course of the past month. Once he grabs on to something, he immediately brings the object to his mouth....of course.

We are going to take Brayden to his first Astros game at the end of August and I can't wait! The last time I was there, I was newly pregnant with him so it will be fun to experience a game with him outside of my tummy! :)

I also registered him for his first runDisney event over Princess Half Marathon weekend. He will be 10 months old and will participate in the Diaper Dash. I. Can't. Wait!!

Brayden isn't on solids yet but will be soon! We were given the green light at yesterday's appointment to begin them sometime in the next two months. :)

It was around this time last year that I found out I was pregnant! I can't believe a year has come and gone so quickly!

My love for this little sugar grows more and more every day! I love being his mommy and can't wait to see what the upcoming months have to hold! Thanks for following along in our journey!

    4. So cute! I remember being sad when EK stopped putting her hands up by her face all the time. Sadly she doesn't do it much anymore except when shes being shy.
