Advice for Disney With A Baby

Since the holidays are behind us now, it's time to add the final touches to our upcoming Disney trip for the Princess Half Marathon weekend...which is fast approaching! We can't wait to experience Disney with Brayden for the first time (outside the womb) and we are excited to travel once again with my parents. By the way, how has it already been over a year since my last trip? I don't quite believe it!

With that, here's a few plans I've made thus far:

  • Early Dinners - we are eating dinner at several table service restaurants and they are planned for an earlier time due to having a baby with us (he will be 10 months old during the trip). Our restaurants include: The Garden Grill, Ohana, The Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Be Our Guest.
  • Stroller Rental - a friend recommended renting a stroller in Disney vs trying to fly with one, so I read reviews of a few companies and came up with Kingdom Strollers. They deliver the stroller to your resort and pick it up once your trip is complete.
  • Baby's First Haircut - although he could use a haircut now, I'm pushing it a bit just to experience his first haircut on Main Street! The Harmony Barber Shop offers a "baby's first haircut" package and it looks too cute to pass up! It's already booked and ready to go!
  • Earmuffs - we purchased these for Brayden to help with the noise on both the plane and in the parks.
  • Baby Carrier - I do own one and will bring it with me for use at the airport and as needed throughout the parks.
Over the past few weeks, I've been googling tips and reading Pinterest pins but I would still like some input.
  • What are your must-haves for traveling to WDW with a baby?
  • How about tips for flying with a baby?
  • Anyone have experience with working with a grocery service in Florida? I'm debating on using them for things like diapers, wipes, and baby water.
Also, I do realize that plans fly out of the window sometimes with a baby, so none of these things are necessarily set in stone...we are just looking forward to traveling to Disney with no expectations and enjoying our time there!

Thanks for your help and input! It's much appreciated!

  1. Oh I'd love to help you out Karen. Traveling to Disney with a baby is so exciting, and seeing Disney through their eyes is so much fun. I can't wait to hear all about your experience next month! (Sending you a PM so that we can chat one on one.)

  2. We used Garden Grocer last year for a trip. It was super convenient. You order online, they deliver to the hotel (we stayed on property, not sure if they deliver off property). Bell services accepted it and then delivered it to the room when we were ready. Super easy!

  3. We went to WDW in June when our youngest was 1 month old (and our others were 14,12, 9, and 8). We took our stroller, but I wore her most of the time since she was so young. We grocery shopped as needed at Super Target, but we weren't staying on property so we drove by daily. I bought diapers at the same time. Early dinners are a great ide.

  4. I actually like traveling with our own stroller. I didn't like the Disney strollers at the park because they don't have enough storage underneath. After you go through security and head to your gate you get a tag for the stroller at the gate desk. Then you fold the stroller and check it right before you walk onto the actual plane. When you get off the plane they have the stroller waiting for you there. Very simple and again I like my own stroller so I can put all the items underneath. Diapers, waters, snacks, park merchandise.
