Today's theme is centered around food - Disney food!
Each trip (along with visiting old favorites) we always try to pick a new (to us) restaurant that we've never experienced before. While there in February for the Princess Half Marathon, we decided to give the Skipper Canteen at Disney's Magic Kingdom a try.
While I won't give the food gushing reviews, I loved the themeing and the atmosphere of the restaurant! Would I eat there again? Probably not as it didn't top our list of favorites, but it was fun to experience at least once!
Today’s Wordless Wednesday theme is: Food
Host: Deb at Focused on the Magic
In the end, we opted not to order a dessert as we really wanted to move over to EPCOT for a cronut (hello)! My mom and dad did receive a cute little Happy Anniversary dessert as they were celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary while on this trip!
As I mentioned earlier, we liked the atmosphere, wait staff, and themeing of the Skipper Canteen, but we didn't care so much for the food. I get what they were trying to create with the menu, but it didn't really cater to our individual tastes. It was fun to try at least once, though!

Have you tried the Skipper Canteen? What were your thoughts?
This is a place that I'd definitely like to try at least once as well. On my last trip, I went with a friend who wasn't interested in trying it based on the menu. I think I could find something I'd enjoy, though. Thanks for sharing all your pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe felt the same way - we wanted to try it at least once! I'm glad we did! :)
DeleteI haven't tried Skipper Canteen and I don't know that I will. I really like the theme and the look of the restaurant I'm not sure about the menu. Thank you for your honest review! Great pictures and detail. Happy Anniversary to your Mom and Dad!!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly how we felt! Thanks so much, Deb! :)
DeleteI don't think I've eaten at the Skipper Canteen. Mostly I like the quick service places at EPCOT in World Showcase.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, those are great, too!
DeleteI too lie to try different restaurants when I visit but it's so hard to not keep going back to old favorites!
ReplyDeleteYes, that's so tough! We definitely have our favorites we visit each time!
DeleteOh boy, that food looks delicious! I love the decor at Skipper Canteen. So fun to check out all the "authentic" memorabilia!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to walk around and look at all of the neat stuff on the walls!
DeleteSuch a shame food wasn't up to scratch. So many places to try at WDW, I'll remember your review.
ReplyDeleteWe were so disappointed, too...we really wanted to like it!
