Dopey Challenge Training Week 8

It's Friday!! I am so looking forward to another fun weekend with family and friends! We are celebrating my father-in-law's birthday this weekend as well as hanging out with friends and recreating Disney's Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake! (It's delicious!)

Although the daily rain showers this week tried to stop each.and.every workout, I didn't let it!

On Saturday, I went for a 6 mile run around town. My little running group set up coolers around town and those were SO very helpful!

I seriously heart these guys!

I felt really good after 6 miles and debated on running more, but the logical side of my head told me I needed to stick to the plan and not get crazy. That's the hardest part of marathon training for me - I want to be fully ready like tomorrow. It definitely doesn't work that way!

On Monday, I set out (solo) in between rain showers for a 3 mile run. I listened to some of my podcast favorites the entire time and I laughed so much, I forgot how far I was into my run. You know when something is so good that you zone out during your run? Yeah, that was Tuesday's run for me!

Thursday evening's run was with Brayden and we decided to go for 4 miles again! As soon as we finished, a downpour came through, so the only picture I have is of this rainbow!

Now, if it would only quit raining! I hear it's supposed to continue daily through the next week, too.

On Tuesday, I completed my PT routine although I'm wondering if I should add another set an additional day during the week. Also today, I'm going to do some cross training after I get off of work.

Speaking of after work, I have a 50 minute massage scheduled today and I am so excited! There's a few gift cards still sitting on the kitchen shelf that needed to be used, so today is the day!

Tomorrow, I have 10 miles on schedule for my long run! Crossing my fingers all goes well! :)

Have a great weekend! What are your weekend plans?

  1. I had a good run on Wednesday, and felt like I could've done more. It's good to end on a good note, and I'm not in training yet, so as much as I wanted to do another loop, what I did was good enough.

  2. Holy moly, 10 miles in this weather? You are a stronger woman than I. Good luck, and be sure to hydrate!
