Dopey Training Week 9

It's only been a few months of Dopey training and I'm getting anxious over here. I'm ready for cooler weather to come through because as the weeks to WDW Marathon Weekend increase, so do the long run miles for Dopey training!

Fitness Friday

Currently Training For:
  • Dopey Challenge 2018 - Walt Disney World
  • Rock n Roll New Orleans Half Marathon 2018 - New Orleans, LA
Saturday - 6 mile run (was planning on 10, had to shorten the run)
Sunday -
Rest Day
Monday - 3 mile run
Tuesday - Squats/Lunges/PT
Wednesday - 4 mile run
Thursday - Walk with Brayden/Rest Day
Friday - Cross Training

As I mentioned last week, I had every intention of setting out for a 10 mile run on Saturday.

Well, several factors got in the way - I woke up late, I ran out of time, my heart wanted to act crazy, and my legs were exhausted. The last mile turned into a run/walk which totally messed up my pace.

The good news is, I opened up a new box of Mizuno Wave Inspires and my hamstring didn't bother me not one bit!

Oh yes, and breakfast. Breakfast was delicious!

On Monday, I took Jason and Brayden along for 3 miles! We made our way around the neighborhood and had a great time! I'm not sure what Brayden was doing there....haha!

It really turned into a beautiful evening!

By the end of it all, both shoes were off and he was trying to remove his socks as well! Silly kid!

Wednesday afternoon left me with spare time before church, so we set out for 4 miles. We both wore our new shoes, too! :)

During my lunch break on Thursday, I decided to walk to a local deli for lunch. About halfway there, I decided to check the heat index and hello....

CRAZY! Hello October...remember us? Please hurry!

Lunch was totally worth it, though...and it left me singing the theme song to New Girl! "Who's that girl? It's Jess!"

If that song is stuck in your head now too, you're welcome! :)

Turkey on Rye with Ham and Potato Soup! Delicious!

This weekend, I'm going for another long run and I'm not going to jinx myself again by saying the mileage so we will see how it goes!

Have a fabulous one!

  1. Hmm, I have no idea what that song is. I remember "who's that girl" by Madonna...lol

Thankfully your longer runs for dopey will take place when the weather is cooler!

    1. Yes I am so thankful for that!

I don't think this is a Madonna song but I could be wrong. It's more like a cute little jingle that was written for a tv show! :) I used to watch it long ago but stopped a while back. I don't know if it's still being made or not but Zoe Deschanel is the star.

  2. I love that you got a cup of soup despite the hot weather! And speaking of weather, it's crazy hard to run in these conditions; cut yourself some slack because as soon as it turns cool, you'll be running those higher miles like a boss!

    1. I thought the soup was ironic too! It was either that or a bag of chips, so I went with the soup!

  5. I didn't know you were also a Mizuno Wave Inspire runner ;-) My WI 8's were my absolute favorite shoe ever...The 10's were not as great (for me), so I ventured over to the Brooks Adrenaline side for a bit, but am back...I think my current Mizunos are WI 12's (?)
