Dopey Challenge Training Week 16

  • Rock n Roll New Orleans Half Marathon 2018 - New Orleans, LA
Saturday - Sick day - was not feeling well at all and completely unable to breathe
Sunday -
Squats/Lunges/PT with cross training
Monday - 3 mile run
Tuesday - 2 mile run 
Wednesday - Rest Day
Thursday - Squats/Lunges/PT with cross training
Friday - Travel day!

Well, week 16 was an overall bust for me training wise. I wasn't able to run this past weekend due to a sinus issue which caused so much buildup and congestion that I couldn't breathe. I decided to play it safe and not attempt a run. Thankfully, I saw my Doctor on Monday afternoon and was feeling much better after the visit!

Once I returned home from my doctor appointment, I went for a solo run. It felt so nice to run as fast as I wanted and not worry about anyone else or anything else!

The sun had mostly set by the time I finished the run! It's still hot and humid in Southwest Louisiana! Where is fall?!

An overall great run with negative splits!

On Tuesday afternoon, we joined our friend Melissa for a quick 2 mile walk/run. Well, when it began to pour down rain out of nowhere, our little jaunt around the neighborhood turned into a full out sprint!

Brayden LOVED the rain! Unfortunately for me, it was pouring incredibly hard and the rain was blowing sideways. He's such a fan of water and I could hear him giggling every time the wind/rain shifted and splashed him. Needless to say, we were all soaked by the time we got home. I even thought I might have lost a contact at one point but nope - it was still in there!

Anyway, that run was definitely an adventure!

On Sunday and Wednesday, I did a bit of cross training with a Tone It Up workout as well as my physical therapy routine.

Today is a travel day as well as a bit of park time, so I know I'll definitely have some steps in there! As far as the next few days go, I have my running shoes and my foam roller packed along with me, so we will see how my training goes! By request (I'm looking at you, Kenzie), I'm bringing along my vlogging camera and I'm excited to share our Disney Fantasy adventures soon!
