Favorite Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Memories

Following suit with last week's Princess Half Marathon Weekend favorites list, today I'm sharing some of my favorite memories from the Rock N Roll New Orleans Marathon and Half! Since we are leaving today for New Orleans for another race weekend, it seemed fitting! :)

In 2011, I ran this race with the American Cancer Society's DetermiNation team and had SO much fun! There were so many cheerleaders on the course and raising money for a great cause just made this race even better!

In 2012, I ran this race again with the American Cancer Society's DetermiNation team, only this time I ran the full marathon. Despite being injured earlier in the year (my first round of IT Band issues), it worked and I made it across the finish line in one piece!

The fifth year of Rock n Roll New Orleans took place in 2014 and all 5 year runners received a special race bib and their name on the banner! So fun!

The inaugural race (Rock N Roll Mardi Gras at the time) was held in 2010 and I had the pleasure of running with my friend Heather! We had a blast and I fell in love with this race immediately. It's no wonder I keep returning year after year! :)

Speaking of running with friends, in 2015 we made a girls weekend trip out of it and had a TON of fun!!

Last year, I ran this half with my favorite running buddy as a time placer for Dopey. We also ran the full marathon together here in 2013 and had a great time! (This course still holds my marathon PR.)

I am looking forward to so many fun new memories this year! Since we are making a 3 day weekend out of it, I'm looking forward to possibly running the 5K on Saturday morning (if there's availability to register at the Expo) and spending time in New Orleans with some of my favorite people. I'm also looking foward to seeing all of the course enhancements that Rock N Roll has made this year!
