Luck

Luck.

With St. Patrick's Day week upon us, today's Tuesdays on the Run topic is all about luck!

As a runner, I feel incredibly lucky each and every time I go for a run and I don't take one moment for granted.

Luck

Putting things is perspective is something I always tend to do, especially with bad days or hard moments. When I was injured or having a set-back and unable to run, I realized just how much I took so many running related things for granted.

Luck

So, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to run (mostly) pain free...
  • lucky to feel the wind in my hair and the breeze on my face as I run...
  • lucky to feel my lungs expanding and my muscles burning with each step...
  • lucky for the network of runners I've met along this journey...
  • lucky for an amazing family and support system....
  • lucky to have a safe place to run and train...
  • lucky that man son seems to enjoy going out for a run just as much as I do....
  • and last but not least, I'm just lucky to have the ability to run
 Luck

Running makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. It calms me down after a bad day, it's granted me the opportunity to travel more, it always gives me the energy boost I need, and I love how it's familiar to me - like an old friend, waiting for me to come say hello and that makes me feel...well, lucky!

Lucky

Ok, ok...I had to! Enough Napoleon Dynamite already...

So yes, I would say I feel pretty lucky to be a runner and I'm grateful for each and every opportunity with each and every new step!

May the luck of the runner be with you! :)

It's the Tuesdays on the Run link up with ErikaMarcia and Patty!

  3. Sometimes I do take the ability to run for granted but I need not to. It is a gift and we should all feel lucky that we are healthy and able to do so.

  4. Running's brought me so much, and it's a great way to calm down after a tough day. No wonder therapists recommend physical activity.

  5. You have spoken so much truth here! AS you may know, I sat out almost all of last summer (recovering from emergency surgery), and I would have gladly traded places with all the people complaining about running in the "dreadful heat/humidity" ;-) Like you, I don't take any run (good or bad) for granted...I feel so incredibly blessed to have the ability to run ;-)

    1. It's funny how a situation like that can put it in perspective for us. I felt the same way when I had my IT Band injury and again when I couldn't run due to pregnancy issues.
